JOB SUMMARY
The Director Supply Chain provides leadership and direction to the North American strategic and tactical supply chain teams. The Director is responsible for developing and maintaining the regional supply chain for Davis-Standard and acts as primary senior-level interface with the business units. The North American supply chain team is distributed across 3 manufacturing sites – Toronto, New York, Connecticut.

KEY OBJECTIVES
- Provides leadership for the supply chain team which includes commodity managers, supplier quality engineers, purchasing managers, buyers / expeditors and inventory analysts.
- Implements systems and process improvements to achieve benchmark performance in both strategic and tactical supply chain activities.
- Provides regional input for the development of global commodity strategies.
- Member of BU management team and ensures regular and comprehensive information flow between supply chain and business units.
- Involved in managing key supplier relationships and assisting in negotiations as needed.
- Works closely with the global supply chain team to execute multi-region projects and support best-practice sharing.
- Key areas of accountability include cost reduction, supplier performance (including on-time delivery and quality), working capital efficiency and purchasing team effectiveness.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- 10 years procurement / operations management experience in an engineered component low volume / high mix manufacturing environment.
- 3 years project management experience.
- Experience with ERP based purchasing systems.
- Ability to communicate and present to multiple management levels including senior leadership and collaborate across all functional areas.
- Process improvement knowledge and demonstrated ability to effectively lead change.
- Microsoft Office Skills including advanced Excel skills required.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and advanced degree in business / finance preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, up to 25% of the time.
