Sr. Supply Planner

  • JOB SUMMARY


    The Sr. Supply Planner is responsible for ensuring machine capacity, material resources, and machine tooling are available to meet current customer demand. The role blends material building, material planning, production scheduling, and resource planning to optimize operational plans while ensuring a superior level of customer experience.

  • KEY OBJECTIVES


    • Creates and/or maintains schedules to establish proper timing of materials, resources, and machine capacity based on customer demand. Verifies amount of material required to complete work orders before starting production and verifies all necessary tooling is available. Expedites and adjusts based on requests from the Customer Care Representatives.
    • Daily combing and updating of current productions schedules. Updating reports to reflect accurate attainment of current machined and supplying each work center with work order. Supplying information of On Time In Full delivery to Operations and Customer Care Team. Examining material shortages and fulling demand while using minimal scrap and utilizing machine strengths.
    • Works with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Purchasing to optimize production schedules. Analyzes current orders to identify similar and identical parts to maximize equipment utilization and reduce changeover time.
    • Works alongside Purchasing to gather information on raw material ship dates, revised delivery dates, and lead time of material. Informing Receiving, Operations, and Customer Care Team on raw material date. Along with updating open work orders and sales order to reflect accurate ship dates for the customers.
    • Employs inventory management techniques to balance inventory optimization with replenishment needs.
    • Involved in Continuous Improvement Teams to help maximize capacity when scheduling for machines.
    • May be responsible to work on other projects as assigned.
      Analyzing data to report accurate KPI’s.
    • Works with SRD to attach First Article paperwork, current deviations, updated quality specifications, and rebuilding parts to reflect updates from customer or to reduce waste. Updating monthly reports and work orders with accurate data to assist Finance with closing each month.
    • Performs production planning by verifying amount of material required for all orders by reviewing order requirements, delivery dates and current inventory levels. This includes converter orders, inter-branch transfers, creating coated stock supply and test protocols. Create production work orders to meet material demands based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
    • Works with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Continuous Improvement Teams to analyze obsolete materials and executes disposition of the material.
    • Facilitates nonconforming paperwork and products (i.e. Pickup orders, Rework orders, Regrading of material, and Customer returned product.) and ensures that replacement material is available to meet production orders.
  • ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics or closely related field.
    • 1 – 4 years of related experience
    • 4+ years of experience – Sr. Planner
    • CPIM Certification, preferred.
    • Association membership such as APICS, ISM, SCC and professional certifications such as CPIM or CSCP.
    • Solid understanding of supply chain management fundamentals including, scheduling, material requirements planning (MRP and MRP II), inventory management, risk management, and capacity requirements planning along with providing the end customer a superior experience.
    • Hands on skill using Material Requirements Planning applications in a contemporary ERP system.
    • Solid experience in enterprise applications. Report writing know-how.
