JOB SUMMARY
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for developing, leading, implementing strategic sourcing initiatives that are aligned to the business objectives and based on an understanding of commodity markets for assigned spend categories. She/He will work with cross functional team members to develop and manage supplier relationships in order to obtain the best value in terms of quality, service, innovation and cost.
This role will monitor and manage supplier performance using clearly defined objectives and metrics. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will jointly develop sourcing plans with business unit(s) to support new business/product development, deliver cost reductions, minimize supply risk and optimize working capital needs. She/He employ project management skills to reach business targets on schedule.

KEY OBJECTIVES
- Design and implement cost savings projects.
- Review and assess current supplier contractual terms and conditions.
- Analyze supply markets, customer requirements, and total cost of ownership to determine appropriate sourcing strategy.
- Develop cost models to drive supplier innovation in line with business needs.
- Develop existing and new suppliers to eliminate supply chain constraints and risks, accommodate future global locations and lower total cost of ownership.
- Utilize project management skills to deliver results on time.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize supply chain.
- Develop and manage business relationships (internally and externally) to ensure sourcing strategies align with business requirements.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain Management, required; Certification from the Institute for Supply Management (C.P.S.M) or APICS is a plus.
- 5+ years with global sourcing and commercial business experience.
- Experience in sourcing to support a growth business with significant new product development a plus.
- Experience with planning, budget management and consulting with business leaders including business strategy development.
- Experience managing contracts with vendors and suppliers including complex long-term contracts, short-term transactional agreements.
- Self-starter, problem solver, strong organizational skills, and collaborative mentality.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including ability to influence peers and internal customers to achieve mutually beneficial solutions.
- Must possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understands and demonstrates basic project management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, and to close projects on time.
- Strategic development and negotiations capabilities. Perform market and cost analysis. Develop a cross functionally approved negotiation strategy.
- Ability to perform complex analysis of business issues and data.
- Ability to independently drive change.
