Supply Chain Project Manager

  • JOB SUMMARY


    Reporting to the Director of North American Supply Chain the Supply Chain Project Manager is responsible for timely and effective execution of multiple Supply Chain projects across Davis-Standard’s sites. The individual will work collaboratively with the procurement teams assisting on all metrics with a focus on working capital improvement, cost reduction and talent development projects.

  • KEY OBJECTIVES


    • Lead specific regional / global projects to improve Davis-Standard’s inventory management practices (e.g. global usage of excess inventory, blanking strategies, consignment). Develop control reports to ensure the on-going visibility of Davis-Standard’s financial obligations for inventory.
    • Talent Development: Identify and implement procurement best practices for North American Supply Chain across all sites to ensure team efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Cost Reduction: Lead execution of sourcing strategies for the NASC and undertake specific cost reduction improvement projects while developing a pipeline of new opportunities. Develop component cost models, where appropriate, for use by Buyers to calculate pricing of new vendors/parts.
    • Vendor Management: Responsible for inventory, IP and confidentiality agreements for existing suppliers. Understand requirements of all business units related to specific commodity groups and support business units with supplier related issues.
    • Lead the NASC metric consolidation monthly.
    • Other job duties as assigned.
  • ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS


    • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus.
    • 3-5 years Financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • 5 years project management experience in operational/manufacturing environment.
    • 3-5 years experience in procurement.
      Familiarity with low volume / high mix manufacturing environments.
    • Experience with ERP based purchasing systems.
    • Ability to communicate and present to multiple management levels.
    • Microsoft Office skills including advanced Excel skills.
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, projected travel 10%-20% annually.
  • LOCATION


    This role can be based out of Pawcatuck, CT or Rosemont, IL.
